Finance & Reinvestment Policy

Purpose and Scope

SSS Competence, Skills & Wellbeing CIC is committed to financial transparency, responsible management of funds, and reinvestment of surpluses for the benefit of the community. This policy sets out how we ensure sound financial governance and deliver public benefit in line with our Community Interest Company obligations.

This policy applies to:

  • Directors and employees of the CIC 
  • Volunteers, contractors, and delivery partners involved in financial activity or oversight

Commitments

 

  • Financial transparency: All accounts will be accurate, timely, and compliant with statutory reporting requirements. 
  • Responsible expenditure: CIC funds will only be used to support our objects and community benefit activities. 
  • Reinvestment of surpluses: Any surplus income will be reinvested into projects, services, and initiatives that advance safety, competence, and wellbeing. 
  • Value for money: Decisions on spending will balance cost-effectiveness with quality and long-term benefit. 
  • Prevention of misuse: Controls will be in place to prevent fraud, mismanagement, or unauthorised use of funds.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • oard of Directors: Holds overall accountability for financial governance and reinvestment decisions. 
  • Finance lead or appointed officer: Responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, overseeing financial controls, and preparing reports for the Board. 
  • Staff and volunteers: Must follow financial procedures, act honestly, and report any concerns or irregularities. 
  • Partners and contractors: Expected to demonstrate fair pricing and financial integrity when working with the CIC.We're working to improve access to healthcare in underserved communities. Our clinics provide medical care, dental care, and mental health services to those in need.

Review and Accountability

 This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if legislation, regulation, or best practice changes. Updates will be approved by the Board of Directors and published on our website.

We believe in the power of community. That's why we're working to develop and strengthen communities through affordable housing, economic development, and other initiatives.
