Beaumond House Hospice Care—there if you ever need it, with care you’ll never forget.

"Beaumond House Hospice Care is a registered charity committed to providing free supportive palliative care to patients and their families living in Newark and Sherwood in Nottinghamshire.

Established in 1987, Beaumond House has four inpatient beds for people with palliative care needs, as well as day therapy and a Hospice at Home service providing compassionate support to the community. The charity also offers complementary therapy for patients and carers who would benefit from a therapeutic approach.

Beaumond House is registered with the CQC and the team are contactable 24 hours a day, seven days per week, to provide a friendly ear, general information or to signpost patients, relatives and carers to appropriate resources, services and self-help groups in the Newark & Sherwood area.

Patchills Pantry – More Than a Café

Patchills Pantry is run by husband and wife team Kate and Jimmy Perry, together with their family and friends. Everyone plays a part – from the kitchen to the deliveries – and it’s this whole-family effort, with everyone sharing the same attitude of care, that makes the place so special.

They’ve built a café and meals service that’s not only about good food, but about warmth, friendship, and belonging. For many people, especially the elderly, Patchills Pantry is a lifeline. It’s a space to feel welcome, to share a chat, and to know someone genuinely cares.

Their Meals on Wheels service is more than just a delivery. Each meal is freshly prepared every day, served in generous portions with a pudding, and delivered with a smile – often with a few minutes of conversation too. If needed, the team will even bring the food inside and dish it up, because for them it’s about dignity and care, not just food.

Kate, with her care background, and Jimmy, with his catering experience, bring the perfect balance of compassion and quality. The result is hearty, traditional meals with variety through a four-week rotating menu – the kind of dinners and puddings that feel like home.

Patchills Pantry has become a vital part of the community, making a huge difference to so many lives.

That’s why SSS Competence, Wellbeing & Skills CIC is proud to support them.

Our aim is to sponsor individuals who may not be able to afford a meal themselves – ensuring no elderly person goes without a daily hot, cooked dinner. By supporting Patchills Pantry, we’re helping reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing, and bring comfort and dignity to those who need it most.

Testimonial from Patchills Pantry:

"We really appreciate all the support SSSCP have offered us.

We have a shared vision of trying to make a positive difference and impact on our local communities.

The financial support makes a huge difference to individuals who, in other circumstances, may not have access to a home-cooked meal and some vital face-to-face contact.

We look forward to working together in the future to continue to make positive change."
